We’ve been heads-down building for a while. This is us coming up for air.
SimpleAI is a full-service AI agency based in Bath. We design, develop, and deploy AI systems for small and medium-sized businesses — the kind that have real work to do and not enough hours to do it. If you’ve been wondering whether AI could actually help your business (rather than just generating marketing copy that sounds like everyone else), this is the place to find out.
What we do
The short version: we build systems that take real work off your people.
That covers a lot of ground. It might mean automating a manual process that’s been eating two hours every Friday. It might mean building a content pipeline that produces on-brand material at a fraction of the cost of an agency retainer. It might mean a lead generation workflow that qualifies, nurtures, and follows up without anyone touching a keyboard.
The longer version: we’re a full-service operation. That means we handle everything from the initial diagnosis — what’s actually slowing you down, what’s worth automating, what isn’t — through to design, build, and deployment. We don’t hand you a tool and leave you to figure it out. We hand you something that works.
We’re not a platform. We’re not a subscription. We’re not going to ask you to attend a webinar series before we’ll tell you what we do. We scope the problem, build the solution, and measure it against your actual numbers.
Who we’re here for
Specifically: professional services businesses in Bath, Bristol, and the wider South West. The 5 to 30-person firms — accountants, consultancies, agencies, legal practices — where the partners are still doing work that could be automated, and the admin overhead is quietly eating the margin.
We understand that market. We know what the sales pipeline looks like. We know what a busy founder’s inbox looks like at 7pm on a Thursday. We’ve built for exactly those businesses, and we know what moves the needle.
That said: if you’re outside that geography, get in touch. The work travels.
We’re launching at Bath Digital Festival
On Tuesday 19 May, we’ll be at Bath Digital Festival — which is as good a place as any to say publicly that SimpleAI is open for business.
Bath Digital Festival brings together the South West’s tech and creative community for a week of talks, events, and genuinely useful conversations. It’s where we want to start. The city has the right density of ambitious businesses, the right culture of doing things properly, and — frankly — not enough competition in this space yet.
If you’re attending, come and find us. If you’re not, keep an eye on this page: we’ll be writing up what we learn.
What this page is for
The Updates page is where we think out loud.
That means sharing interesting projects — the ones we can talk about, and the ones where clients have been kind enough to let us show our working. It means writing about developments in AI that we think matter for the businesses we work with, stripped of the hype and the jargon. It means the occasional longer piece when we have something worth saying.
It also means talking about our pro bono work. We’re committed to working with charities and not-for-profit organisations that could benefit from AI automation but don’t have the budget to commission it commercially. We’ll be documenting those projects here — what we built, what it solved, what we learned. If you run or work for an organisation that might qualify, reach out.
We won’t post for the sake of posting. When there’s something here, it’ll be worth reading.
The people
SimpleAI was founded by Tom and William. Between us, we bring almost three decades of experience across AI, technology, and digital strategy — at organisations including Adobe, Microsoft, and Google. We’ve spent our careers at the intersection of content, systems, and the businesses that depend on both.
We started SimpleAI because we got tired of watching good businesses move slowly for no good reason. The tools exist. The expertise to deploy them exists. The gap is in having someone who’ll do it properly, without the enterprise price tag or the six-month implementation timeline.
That’s the gap we’re filling.
